X-Plane saves information about your X-Plane DVDs to a preferences file so that you do not have to insert a DVD every time you run the product.  As of this writing, X-Plane will run for up to a week before requiring the DVD again.

On a very small number of machines, a configuration problem stops X-Plane from saving DVD information; when this happens you will see this message:

X-Plane was not able to save your DVD’s information to preferences.

You can still fly X-Plane as long as your DVD is in the drive.

Please contact X-Plane technical support to resolve this issue.

When this happens, you can still fly X-Plane, but you will need to keep your DVD in the DVD drive at all times.

If you see this message, please contact tech support, and include a copy of your Log.txt file.
