X-Plane Trainer was a free demo version of X-Plane Mobile which is no longer available on the iTunes App Store. It came with all the same flight regions as the X-Plane 9 app, but only the Cessna 172 airplane. Its on-screen, step-by-step instructions for taking off, flying, and landing the aircraft made learning to use the X-Plane simulator a breeze. Note that all these training features are now present in the X-Plane 9 app for iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as X-Plane for iPad and X-Plane HDEF 4G.

Included Aircraft

X-Plane Trainer came with only the Cessna 172, a very common craft for pilots in the real world to learn in. For more aircraft, users could purchase X-Plane 9 or any of the numerous spinoff applications, all available at the iTunes App Store.

Included Flight Regions

X-Plane Trainer had the same six flight regions as the X-Plane 9 app:

  • Innsbruck, Austria
  • Hawaii
  • Boswell Bay, Alaska
  • Southern California
  • San Francisco, California
  • Desert Sky, California
