X-Plane Trainer for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Earn your wings here

X-Plane Trainer was a free demo version of X-Plane Mobile which is no longer available on the iTunes App Store. It came with all the same flight regions as the X-Plane 9 app, but only the Cessna 172 airplane. Its unique on-screen, step-by-step instructions for taking off, flying, and landing the aircraft made learning to use the X-Plane simulator a breeze.

Included Aircraft

X-Plane Trainer came with only the Cessna 172 aircraft, a very common craft for pilots in the real world to learn in. For more aircraft, users could purchase X-Plane 9 or any of the numerous spinoff applications, all available at the iTunes App Store.

Included Flight Regions

X-Plane Trainer had the same six flight regions as the X-Plane 9 app:

  • Innsbruck, Austria
  • Hawaii
  • Boswell Bay, Alaska
  • Southern California
  • San Francisco, California
  • Desert Sky, California

What's the difference...

...between the iPhone/iPod Touch and the Palm Pre version? The answer is... almost nothing. The user interface, flight controls, and all other features are identical. The most noticeable difference is, well, the loading screen. Find info on both here.
