Every few months, we release a new (free) update to X-Plane. These updates include bug fixes, feature enhancements, and new feature additions. While they are completely optional, the updates are recommended.
Note: If you have an FAA-certified version of X-Plane from PFC, then you should not use these downloads. Instead, get your updates from PFC.
To read about all the enhancements included in the 9.40 update, see the X-Plane Change-Log.
To read about the latest beta, see the Beta page.

Not sure you want to buy the simulator just yet? Why not give the demo a shot? The demo contains a limited scenery area (keeping the download small). It will run for 10 minutes before it begins to ignore the user's input, at which point the simulator must be restarted to fly any more. For unlimited flight time (as well as the incredible global scenery), order X-Plane now.
