OK here, I take the resin layer right off of the carbon-fiber so the hy-sol can form a good bond with the carbon fiber underneath. This is pretty hard work, cause the drill with the hard-plasti/rubber edges is always trying to jump out of your hand as you sand through the reson to get to the carbon underneath.

All done!

Not bad!

You can clearly see where I took off the resin, getting right down to the carbon fiber, so the hy-sol could make a good bond!

The pieces go into the jig, where we will add the hy-sol:

And then the upper skin goes on, and the upper jig goes on top of that!

Here is what to look for in the picture below: Note all the little cigarette-butts sticking out of the flap: Those are clecoes. Those are little pins that go through the flap skin into holes on the lower flap-skin. Putting those pins in place guarantees that the upper skin is perfectly positioned on the lower skin.

As well, in the forground, note the grey goo squeezing out of the side. The hy-sol bonds the upper and lower skins, and this extra over-squeeze came out when the upper skin was pressed fiormly in place. I will take that off later with a dual-action pneumatic sander.
