X-Plane 10.40 Release Briefing
X-Plane 10.40 is a major release that includes many updates and new features, including:
- Digital download allows new purchasers the convenience of downloading the simulator without having to leave the X-Plane website or wait for DVDs to arrive via mail.
- Control Pad app, which allows you to control X-Plane dynamically without pausing or interrupting flight. You can change weather, position, and more with the app, or even use it as a portable instruction station to throw emergency situations into the mix.
- 576 new 3-d airports submitted by users via the Airport Scenery Gateway
- Extended visibility with faster scenery load
- Winds aloft in the US
- Improvements to ATC usability and the addition of the “Who’s Online” ATC feature
- Improved night lighting
- AVI recordings, which are compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions
- New networking options for 3rd party add-ons
In addition, this update also provides:
- Improved PT6 Modeling
- Better weather sync with Xavion
- Support for third party seasonal scenery packs
- Presets for rendering options
