Bringing extra security to your X-Plane Identity Account!
Today, we’re introducing Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for X-Plane Identity accounts — adding an extra layer of protection for your account, purchases, and access to X-Plane services.
As X-Plane Identity continues to play a larger role across the X-Plane platform, account security becomes increasingly important. With email-2FA enabled, signing in to your account becomes significantly more secure through an additional verification step tied to your email.
What Does Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Do?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires two separate forms of verification before access is granted to an account or system.
How Do I Enable Two-Factor Authentication?
When you sign into your X-Plane Identity Account, you can opt in to 2FA via your account settings
The next time you sign in, X-Plane will prompt you about a a code sent to your email.
Navigate to the email used to create your X-Plane Identity Account. You will be sent a 6-digit code.
To complete the process, enter this code into the verification field. X-Plane Identity will then log in.
What Is An X-Plane Identity Account?
X-Plane Identity is our new integrated account system for all things X-Plane. Starting in 2026, all new users to X-Plane can purchase and access their X-Plane purchase via their Identity Account. Existing users also have the option to migrate their serial code (XDD) to an Identity Account in a one-time process.
