“I have used X-Plane for real IFR practice. I recently completed an Embraer rating and used X-Plane during my entire course. I even got some people who never simmed before to buy X-Plane and use it for their next real pilot renewals as well.
I use now VR option and oh my word – another world has opened up for me. It’s a must, it’s just so much more immersive and feels like I am in the exact plane I fly in real life. I currently fly a Embraer 135 BJ Legacy 650.
I am currently using Oculus Quest 2 and X-Crafts Embraer Legacy model and it’s really great. I personally use the VR option for keeping myself current with start up procedures and SOP’s.
As for what’s coming to X-Plane 12 I’ll definitely be using the FMS system of the Citation X to learn the Honeywell system better.”
