X-Plane Store: How to Use Your Store Purchase
Applies to:
X-Plane 12 and add-ons purchased from the X-Plane Store
Overview
There are two main types of products available in the X-Plane Store:
- X-Plane 12 (the base simulator)
- Add-on content, such as:
- Aircraft
- Scenery
- Plugins
Regardless of what you purchased, the core requirement is the same:
You must first have X-Plane installed, then login via Laminar Identity to recover or use your purchases.
The steps below explain how to do this.
Downloading, Installing, and Signing Into X-Plane 12
If you purchased X-Plane 12 (the base simulator), you must install it using the official X-Plane installer.
The installer is not downloaded from the store page, you should always use the main outlet on the official X-Plane website:
Download the installer for your OS, then run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted, enter the email address used for your X-Plane Store purchase to restore your license.
Note: Your Laminar Identity account is used to restore purchases. Some versions (such as DVD or Steam) may not require a serial key.
